I am working with Dennis Hughes, MD, Ph.D., to complete a list of “Frequently Asked Questions”. He not only works at MD Anderson as an oncologist but he is also a researcher, professor and new dad (again).
Dr. Hughes will be answering questions such as:
What is the standard treatment of pediatric melanoma?
What is the difference between a spitzoid and a melanoma?
My child has never had a sunburn. How could she have gotten melanoma?
Please check back often as he will answer questions as he has time.
A parent of another Little Warrior has written her treatment plan, which is fairly standard for melanoma. I am putting it here so you have a resource to give to your child’s doctor if there is some question on how to proceed after initial diagnosis. I encourage you to print this out and bring it to your doctor.
